SIA BaltEnEko was established and registered under the name EDON Latvia in 1997, as a subsidiary company of Essent Group (the Netherlands). In 1999 the company changed its name to Essent Baltic and was known under this name till year 2003 when it became independent and changed its name to BaltEnEko (Baltic Energy and Ecology).

The use of modern, energy efficient and environmental-friendly technologies is a key setting point of BaltEnEko. The Company has gained large experience in project management; operation and maintenance for green energy production, landfill gas utilization, cleaner production process implementation in utilities, as well as biomass export activities.

Large experience has been gained in the project management referring to different grants and commercial investments - AIJ, PSO, ERUPT programs, and cooperation with NEFCO on clean production projects implementation, as well as cooperation with UNDP/GEF.
